Dandenong Community Hub

Council is planning a dynamic, multipurpose community hub to enhance social connections to promote inclusion, which promotes local economic growth and contributes to the revitalisation of central Dandenong. 

The Dandenong Community Hub will enhance social, physical and mental wellbeing by offering shared facilities for community groups and organisations.  

How you can help us:

  • Council is advocating for $20 million in federal funding for the construction of the Dandenong Community Hub.

Revitalising Springvale: Multicultural Place Upgrade

Multicultural Place in Springvale’s retail precinct is the only public space in the area, and its revitalization would create an environmentally sustainable hub that fosters social connection, attracts investment, supports economic growth and meets the diverse needs of the community. 

The upgraded Multicultural Place will provide a safe, welcoming and accessible space, encouraging social connection, recreation and community pride.

How you can help us: 

  • Council is requesting $5 million in federal funding to cover the costs of revitalising Multicultural Place and the adjacent laneway.

Revitalising Springvale: Springvale Boulevard Project

The Springvale Boulevard project will transform the area into a vibrant, community-driven hub with upgraded amenities, boosting local business and establishing Springvale as a lively, accessible destination. 

Upgrading Springvale Boulevard will enhance the experience for residents, visitors and businesses by improving pedestrian safety, adding greenery and creating rest areas.

  • Council is requesting $5 million in federal funding to complete the project.

Revitalising Springvale: Post Office Lane Canopy

The Post Office Lane Canopy project will revitalize a key laneway, enhancing connections to Springvale Road, car parks and retail areas while celebrating the area's vibrant multicultural character. 

The Post Office Lane Canopy will enhance pedestrian access between Springvale Road and nearby retail and parking areas, creating a functional public space that fosters social interaction.

How you can help us:

  • Council is requesting $1.3 million in federal funding to cover the construction of the canopy and related features.

Revitalising Dandenong: Afghan Bazaar Streetscape

The Afghan Bazaar Cultural Precinct streetscape upgrades, with new crossings, pavements, furniture, and cultural features, will enhance its appeal as a welcoming destination for Afghan and broader communities. 

The revitalised Afghan Bazaar will support local jobs, enhance social connection and celebrate Afghan culture. 

How you can help us:

  • Key funding needs include $1,054,000.

Revitalising Noble Park

Revitalizing the Noble Park Activity Centre will create an inclusive, vibrant community centre that fosters active living and economic growth while preserving the area's unique village character. 

These projects will improve Noble Park’s liveability with upgraded infrastructure, better services, increased foot traffic and an inclusive All Abilities Playground for people of all ages and abilities. 

How you can help us:

  • Council is requesting $626,301 for the Buckley Street Improvement project. 
  • $639,800 is required to complete the project Ross Reserve All Abilities Playground.
