Council provides many waste and recycling bin options to meet individual needs.
The service options available encourages residents to reduce waste from going to landfill.

Bin options
An Application for Household Bins form will need to be completed for the following situations:
- Ordering bins for your new property
- Changes to your bin option
- Downsizing or upgrading bin size
- Ordering an additional bin.
Only residential ratepayers, or their authorised property manager or owners corporation secretary acting on their behalf, may select and/or change bin options and order additional bins.
Tenants must get approval for any changes to residential garbage levy.
Residential Garbage Levy
Included in your rates each year is a Residential Garbage Levy. This charge covers the cost of your:
- weekly garbage collection
- fortnightly recycling collection
- fortnightly garden waste collection
- 'at call' hard waste collection
The Residential Garbage Levy is determined by your nominated bin option. Please refer to your rates notice for your specific Residential Garbage Levy amount. All of the bin options and Residential Garbage Levy for each option is outlined below.
Fees are exempt of GST.
All properties (including non-rateable properties) are required to pay a residential garbage service fee for the collection and disposal of waste. Blocks of vacant land are exempt from the annual garbage charge.
Refunds can not be given because a resident vacates their property, specifies that bins are not to be delivered or chooses not to place out bins for collection.

Fees are exempt of GST.
Change of Bin Option
To change your bin option, complete Section A of the Application for Household Bins form.

Additional Bins
To apply for an additional bin, please complete Section B of the form Application for Household Bins form.

New residents

Please note that only a property owner or agent can select bins for a property. If you are a tenant, contact your landlord or property manager.

Damaged bins
If one of your bins is damaged, please contact us on 8571 1000 and we will arrange for repair or replacement at no charge.
Requests received before 2pm will be attended to the next working day. Requests received after 2pm will be attended to within two working days.
Please put your empty damaged bin out empty on the nature strip the night before the scheduled repair day.
Stolen and missing bins
If one of your bins has been stolen complete a Statutory Declaration for Missing Bins form and return to Council in person to a customer service centre, or post, fax, or scan and email.
Upsize your recycing bin
Once you chose your bins from the above six options (A - F), you can elect to upsize your recycling further with a larger 360 litre capacity recycling bin.
If you selected this additional 360 litre recycling bin it will replace the recycling bin in your preferred option.
