Community safety in the City of Greater Dandenong is a collective responsibility. Everyone has the right to feel and be safe, whether at home, at work or in education, visiting or enjoying the many things our municipality has to offer.

Council implements evidence-based initiatives to help to reduce crime and increase community safety, which is essential to improving everyone's quality of life.

Council works closely with Victoria Police, other emergency services, Neighbourhood Watch, the community, other levels of government and many organisations to improve safety in public spaces and facilities, and homes.
