The Springvale Boulevard Project will see a full upgrade of the road and footpaths located on Springvale Road between Balmoral Avenue and Windsor Avenue.
The construction works will be conducted by MACA Infrastructure Pty Ltd (MACA).
Construction will start in mid-August 2021 and is expected to finish by late-August 2022.
What can you expect
We’ll carefully plan our work to minimise disruptions and provide you with advance notice of scheduled changes. We’ll plan ahead and keep traders, residents and motorists informed of our works through regular project updates, electronic message boards, and a 24-hour contact phone line.
Upcoming works
In mid-August you will start to see significant works occur along the Boulevard. These include:
- relocating and protecting underground utility services
- continued site investigations to better understand the ground conditions before we start major construction.
- installing temporary pedestrian lights
- temporary road closures
- installing of temporary lighting
- tree removal
- installing temporary fencing and traffic barriers.
We will also start to conduct property condition surveys between August and September.
Working hours
Most of our works will take place between 7am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Night works will be undertaken between 6pm and 6am Sunday to Thursday.
When night works are required, we will provide advanced notice, so you can plan and prepare.
Parking
During the construction phase, some parking bays along Springvale Road temporarily removed. These parking bays will be reinstated when safe to do so.
There will also be temporary removal of parking bays in the Warwick Avenue Car Park for the Site Compound. These parking bays will be reinstated near the end of the project.
Service location
Before we start our works, we will need to relocate services such as gas, electricity, water sewerage and communications including NBN, Optus and Telstra. Your utility provider will let you know of any planned disruptions ahead of time.
Traffic impacts
We will replace the current pedestrian lights with temporary pedestrian lights for the duration of the works. Once the project is complete, new permanent pedestrian lights will be installed.
Temporary carpark and lane closures along Springvale Road will be required during construction. When road closures are needed, we will notify you prior to works commencing.
Lighting impacts
We will remove the current public lighting poles along the Boulevard. The public light poles will be replaced with temporary lighting for the duration of the Project.
New street lighting will be installed once works are complete.
Tree removal
Eight trees will be removed to make way for widened footpaths and on-street-trading opportunities. These trees will be replaced with 40 new trees as part of the works.
The tree removal will be completed as night works on Sunday 22 August between 6pm and 6am. At times, works may be subject to inclement weather.
Keeping you informed
Moving forward, we will distribute regular construction updates to the impacted traders, business owners and residents in the area to ensure accurate and timely information is being provided.
