GameChange Early Wins - Embedding Social Procurement

We are working to embed social procurement into Council practices.

These small but significant opportunities to showcase local services will help to contribute to sustainable outcomes for the Greater Dandenong community.

One of the ways GameChange has done this, is by engaging a local social enterprise to cater for one of our forums, providing a great way of promoting our local talent to all who attended.

Cultural Cuisines – a Wellsprings for Women social enterprise, catered for the launch of City of Greater Dandenong’s GameChange.

The group of women who contributed to the delicious menu on the day came from various backgrounds and share the same ambitions – to support their own financial security, health and wellbeing, enhance their way of living and give other people the chance to get to know their culture through the scrumptious food they cook.

The five women who catered are all being trained in "Introduction to Working in Hospitality", forming part of a formal qualification through the Cultural Cuisines program.

Opportunities such as these provide practice and on-the-job experience.

The five fabulous women went on to pass their food handling certificate exams held the week after our event.
