GameChange News - Early Wins - Career and Support Expo Success

The March Dandenong Career and Support Expo is a shining example of what can be achieved when collaboration happens. The event received significant praise from attendees, with one stallholder calling it “the best career expo we’ve ever been to.”

This resounding success, attracting over 200 attendees and featuring 32 stallholders is attributed to several key strategies:

  • Holistic Approach: By offering both career advice and support services in a single location, the expo catered to all aspects of an individual's employment journey.
  • Optimised Format: A streamlined timeframe compared to previous events made for a lively atmosphere, demonstrating that a condensed format can still deliver significant impact.
  • Networking Focus: Recognising the value of connection and building on the feedback from last year’s Support Fairs, the committee incorporated a networking opportunity through a catered lunch for stallholders, fostering valuable interactions and potential future collaborations.
  • Diverse Expertise: Drawing from various organisations with unique strengths and experiences ensured comprehensive planning and excellent execution. This diverse team approach allowed all the puzzle pieces to come together seamlessly.

The Priority Action Group behind the event is looking forward to future opportunities to collaborate and share their event-planning knowledge, how to create a holistic event for jobseekers at any stage in their journey.

Let’s continue to invest in those who need it most.
