Greater Dandenong City Council today released the following statement in relation to yesterday’s Court ordered mediation between Council and I Cook Foods:
“We are pleased to confirm that I Cook Foods has dropped its case against Council.
The case against Council was dismissed by the Court following a day-long mediation between I Cook Foods and Council yesterday.
The fact that the claims were dropped shows that there was no substance to any of the claims made against Council and its officers.
Nothing was paid by Council to I Cook Foods. Both I Cook Foods and Council have agreed to pay their own legal costs.
Although we are pleased with the outcome, our thoughts and condolences remain with the Painter family who lost their mother.
We will also continue to focus on the welfare of our staff involved in this case. Council has been doing everything it can to support them through this issue.”
