Greater Dandenong Libraries are offering members the opportunity to now borrow sporting equipment from Springvale Library for use at the Springvale Community Hub’s outdoor sport and recreation facilities.
Library members can use their library card to borrow basketballs and table tennis sets for two hours at a time, with more sporting equipment options to come.
Mayor, Cr Eden Foster was joined by members of the Greater Dandenong Table Tennis Club recently who are already making the most of this initiative.
“It is so important for Council to provide lots of opportunities for our community to enhance their overall health and wellbeing and ‘Make Your Move’.
“We are fortunate to have great green open space and established basketball courts and table tennis tables at the Springvale Community Hub for everyone to enjoy.
“Local library members get a lot of value from their membership when they can participate in innovative activities like this for all ages and abilities.
“I had fun using the sporting equipment available to borrow from the Springvale Library and I encourage our local library members to take up this great opportunity to keep active,” said the Mayor.
Council encourages everyone in the Greater Dandenong community to join the library if not already a member so you too can borrow some sporting equipment and ‘Make Your Move’.
