On behalf of all Councillors and officers of Greater Dandenong City Council, I acknowledge the passing of Pope Francis. We extend our thoughts and prayers to our Catholic community in Greater Dandenong and across the world.
His Holiness, Pope Francis, Bishop of Rome was an important faith leader and global leader in turbulent times. His passing, and the recognition of his life, is important to many in our community. He invited world leaders to join him in focusing on what we have in common. By living a very modest life, he demonstrated his faith and vocation. He always showed a commitment to peace, equality and inclusion of all.
In our multi-faith and multicultural community, we all benefit from leaders such as Pope Francis, whose love of humanity and compassion sets a strong example for us all.
