During the week beginning Monday 17 October, Council will commence an extensive bin inspection program, aiming to improve recycling behaviours and minimise contamination.
Yellow-lid recycling bins will be inspected during a three-hour period on the morning of waste collection, prior to being emptied. Inspectors will be looking for contamination and non-recyclable items. Each bin will then be tagged with a bin tag to inform residents of the outcome of the inspection and provide education on how to recycle correctly. Bins will also have ‘No Plastic Bag’ stickers placed on the lids.
