The Victorian Government is investing $3.9 million to improve safety and traffic flow at the Springvale Road, Virginia Street and Newcomen Road intersection in Springvale.
The local community will benefit from new traffic lights and pedestrian crossings being installed, and greater public transport reliability with bus priority lights.
Changes will also be made at Rosalie Street to make it left turn only on to Springvale Road. A safer speed limit of 40km/h will be in place along Springvale Road from the Springvale shopping precinct to Watt Street.
Road users will also benefit with a new smoother and safer road surface as significant road renewal works are taking place along Springvale Road.
The works will start in early 2022 for completion mid-year. As a result of the upgrade, there will be some changes to car parking in the area.
