Cultural Threads was an exciting month-long celebration of textile art hosted by the City of Greater Dandenong.
The festival explored and discovered textiles through a variety of workshops, events and activities held across multiple venues across Greater Dandenong including Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens, The Drum Theatre, Dandenong and Springvale Library and Harmony Square.
From knitting to crocheting, dyeing to weaving, needlepoint to urban fashion – and everything in between - people from all ages and backgrounds were invited to explore and discover textile art, learn new crafts, trade skills, create works with textile artists, share stories and interweave cultures. Cultural Threads was a satellite event for Craft Victoria’s Craft Cubed Festival 2019.
