There is a lot of work taking place across Greater Dandenong and the region to address the ‘mismatch’ of jobseeker capability to employer requirements. Local, State and Federal government departments are working collectively and collaboratively to bring all stakeholders together to shape a more effective jobs and skills system for all through our community led GameChange initiative.
One issue that is being addressed is the value of Flexible Workplace Models, as during the early days of the pandemic, companies adopted new work practices out of necessity. The value of this has increased among both employees and employers – not only attracting talent, but also increasing productivity. Recruitment and retention are the key components – critical in today’s environment when finding staff is a challenge.
