a colourful mural on a wall

Happy Grounds by Happy Decay

Ongoing from June 2022
Leonard Avenue, Noble Park

‘Happy Grounds’ is a large-scale landscape mural by multidisciplinary street artist and illustrator Happy Decay, Bjarni Wark. This bold and playful new work can be found in Leonard Avenue, Noble Park.

The artist’s brief was to create a mural which made a positive change to public space. The location of the artwork abuts Buckley’s Lane which is actively used by pedestrians on daily commutes through Noble Park.

The artist has intentionally created a surreal landscape, bringing a new element of surprise and joy to the location and creating a more pedestrian-friendly experience.

During the installation of the mural, artist Bjarni Wark ran a fun onsite mural painting workshop with students from Noble Park Primary School and St Anthony’s Primary School. The workshop enabled students to contribute to painting the mural and learn more about street art and placemaking in Noble Park.
