Take a Swing Charity Golf 2022

16th Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day

Take a Swing for Charity is an annual afternoon of golf held each February to raise funds for local charities. The Golf Day is supported by corporate sponsors, many of whom have provided continuous sponsorship since its inception in 2009.

From 2009 to 2024 Take a Swing for Charity has raised almost $668,000 providing much-needed financial support to 18 charitable organisations over the period.

This has directly helped thousands of community members, ranging from individuals and families, young and old experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence, disability, insufficient health care, educational challenges or barriers to employment.

Get involved in 2025 and our local charity

Help us to reach our 16th anniversary target of $720,000 with this year’s Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day.

Supporting 18 local charities since its inception in 2009, Take a Swing has helped thousands in our community. Funds raised have been used to support individuals and families young and old, experiencing food insecurity, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, and health care concerns. We’ve also supported programs that address the challenges of disability and removed barriers to employment.

Want to get involved?

This year’s event will be held on Monday 17 February at one of the finest sand belt clubs, Commonwealth Golf Club.

If you’re not a golfer, you can still help.  Donate direct to Noble Park Community Centre, this year’s recipient charity, provide an auction item or even join us for dinner and the auction. Noble Park Community Centre has been serving the local community for more than 68 years.

Our target for 2025 is $50,000 with all funds raised going towards revitalising their kitchenette, making it accessible to people of all abilities and expand their food relief program by an additional 200 meals a week. This will increase their capacity 110% through improved storage and the provision of pre-packaged meals. Noble Park Community Centre supports over 1100 families and individuals within the local community and the need is growing.

Take a Swing is only possible through the support of a small, dedicated group of sponsors and the broader business community who come together, enjoy the golf, camaraderie and competitiveness that the day brings, followed by the post-golf dinner and auction, all while giving back to our most vulnerable.

This model of Greater Dandenong’s business community coming together to support local charities is Take a Swing’s bedrock.

Become a sponsor

Take a Swing for Charity relies on the goodwill and financial support of our industry sponsors, players on the day and organisations donating items for player prizes and the golf day auction.

Why not consider becoming a sponsor, join the fun as a player, take a team or donate an auction item. This year, players have an opportunity to win a Nissan X Trail from Booran Motors if you get a Hole-in-One and $500 cash if you win the putting competition.

Playing team of four, $1,860, includes lunch, a round of golf, player gifts, drinks and dinner.

Individual players, $465.
