What planning permit application types can be submitted via the portal?
The planning permit application types below can be submitted via the portal;

The following requests can also be submitted online - go to the Planning Register mygreaterdandenong.com, search for the planning permit application, and click the relevant button in the Available Actions for Planning Permit Applicant section;

- Request secondary consent amendment to endorsed plans

What other information or requests relating to a planning permit application can be submitted via the portal?
Applicants can submit the following information and requests online via the Planning Register;
- Submit plans and documents for endorsement (to comply with permit conditions)
- Respond to a request for further information (RFI) or request more time to provide a response
- Submit other information relating to the planning permit application (eg. advertising statutory declaration)
- Request to amend application under Section 50 (before notice)
- Request to amend application under Section 57A (after notice - fees apply)
- Change the applicant details
- Withdraw your application
- Request an extension to the expiry of a planning permit
- Request secondary consent amendment to endorsed plans
The options listed above will be available based on the current stage of the application.
Go to the Planning Register mygreaterdandenong.com, click the Application Search option, and locate the relevant planning application. Once the application is displayed, scroll to the Available Actions for Planning Permit Applicant section at the bottom of the screen and click on the relevant button to submit your request.

How can I request a copy of an approved development plan, planning strategy or policy document?

You must include your contact details (name, address, phone number) and specify the /document/s you require. Documents will be provided via email.

I am not sure which category applies to my planning permit application?
The category (or categories if more than one is required) selected during submission of an application will determine the fee(s) payable for the application - please select carefully.

Once you have submitted your application, a tax invoice with a full summary of fees will be sent by email to the nominated Delivery Email Address.
I am trying to search for a property/related property address, but the search does not return any results. What should I do?
Try using the Advanced Search function or select the Land tab to enter details from the Certificate of Title.
If you are unable to find the correct property via the search function, please contact Council’s Statutory Planning department on 8571 1000 for assistance.
What is difference between the primary property/land and other related property/land addresses?
If your application relates to more than one property, select the main or primary property/land, then select any related properties at the other related property/land step. If the application is only related to one property, click the skip button at the other related property/land step.
What is the delivery Email Address?
The email address entered at this step will be used by Council to communicate on all matters relating to the application. This may include invoices, requests for further information, and other relevant correspondence.
I am asked to enter name details at several steps; delivery Email Address, Property Owner, Contact Person, and Applicant. What is the difference?
There could be several different parties relating to an application, or one or more may be the same;
- Delivery Email Address – this email address will receive all correspondence relating to the application (this includes the invoice)
- Property Owner/s - the person/s or organisation that owns the property
- Contact Person - the primary contact for all matters relating to the application, on behalf of the Applicant
- Applicant - the person or organisation applying for the planning application
You can select to ‘copy’ from recently used names entered at a previous step or you can enter new name details at each step. However, please note that the Delivery Email Address is the only email that will receive correspondence during the application assessment process.
What if I make a mistake and enter the incorrect details when I am submitting an online application?
During the submission process, you can change any of the details you have entered prior to completing the submission process.
At the top left of the screen is the Step menu - select the relevant screen name to go back to that screen and edit the information.
You can check all of the information that you have entered once you get to the Summary Information screen - the final step before completing the submission process.
Will I receive a confirmation when I submit an application via the portal?
All applications submitted via the portal will be assigned a lodgement reference number and a confirmation email will be sent to the Delivery Email Address that was provided during the submission process. A tax invoice with a full summary of fees will be attached to the email.
Please Note: An application will not be formally received by Council until the application fee has been paid in full. The date of the payment of the fee will be the date of receipt of the application.
New planning permit applications will appear on the online Planning Register once payment has been received and the application has been reviewed and validated.
How do I submit documents with my application?
At the File Attachments step, you can upload the relevant documentation to support your application;
- Multiple files/documents of the same Attachment Type may be uploaded (for example, plans can be uploaded individually).
- Files/documents must meet the file type requirements;
- an accepted file type
- allowed characters; numbers, dashes, underscores and round brackets only (other characters and symbols are not accepted)
- each file/document must not exceed 50MB in size
Depending on the application, there may be mandatory files/documents which must be uploaded, eg. copy of current Certificate of Title. These are marked with an asterisk (*).
If you attempt to upload a file/document that does not meet the file type requirements, an error message will appear at the top of the screen.
To upload a file/document;
- Select an Attachment Type
- Click the Choose File button
- Select a file/document to upload
- Enter a File Title
- Enter a File Description (if you wish to provide more information)
- Type the security Captcha text, then click the Upload button. Note: If the Captcha code is entered incorrectly, the screen will clear and you will need to repeat the above steps
- Repeat the steps to upload other relevant files. Note: the security Captcha is only required to upload the first attachment.
How do I pay my application fee(s)?
Planning application fees can be paid at the end of the application submission process by clicking on the Pay Application Fees button on the Application Confirmation screen.
Payment can also be made by one of the following methods;
- Online Payments – visit mygreaterdandenong.com to pay by credit card. Select Permit Payment in the Online Payments menu, enter your planning reference number in the Permit No field, and follow the prompts
- Phone – pay by credit card by calling Customer Service on 8571 1000
- Cheque – send to Council with a copy of the tax invoice attached
- In Person – visit a Council Customer Service Centre with a copy of the tax invoice
Applications will not be formally lodged and cannot be processed until the full application fee has been paid.
Planning enquiry applications submitted via the online planning portal require a credit card payment at the end of the submission process and cannot be submitted without payment.
What happens if I do not pay the application fee(s)?
Applications will not be formally lodged and cannot be processed until the full application fee has been paid.
In the case of Planning Permit applications, in accordance with Section 47 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, your application will not be formally received by Council until the application fee has been paid. The date of the payment of the fee will be the date of receipt of the application.
Payment must be received by Council within 10 business days of the date it was submitted. If you fail to make payment within this timeframe, the application will be cancelled and you will be notified by email. If this occurs and you still wish to pursue the proposal, you will need to submit a new planning application with all supporting documentation and payment of the full applicable fee.
How can I view the advertised documents for a planning permit application?
Advertised documents are available for viewing on the online Advertised Applications register mygreaterdandenong.com
In accordance with Information Privacy Principles, the application form is not available for viewing on the planning register.

How do I make a submission/objection to a planning permit application via the portal?
Go to the Planning Register menu mygreaterdandenong.com and select the Advertised Applications option.
Select the relevant planning application and scroll to the Lodge a Submission section at the bottom of the screen.
Click the Lodge Submission button and complete your submission.
Note: The Details of Submission* field has a maximum 1024 character limit. A detailed submission document or other supporting documents (such as photographs) can be uploaded at the File Attachments step.
