The athletics precinct at Ross Reserve is considered a regional level facility which is home to numerous athletics clubs and hosts school and regional athletics events.
The synthetic track and field surface is at the end of it service life and in need of replacement.
It is proposed that the facility is redeveloped to bring the facility up to International Association of Athletics Federations standard (Class 2 certificate). This will allow for all track and field events to be accommodated at the facility and attract regional and state-level athletics events to the reserve.
