Take a Swing for Charity golf days have made a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of Greater Dandenong’s community for over a decade. Read the year-by-year summaries below.
2022
$37,000 was raised in support of Wellsprings for Women to construct a women's social enterprise food truck for its Cultural Cuisines project, also upskilling and empowering women to work in the catering industry. In 2022 for the first time, the Hole-in-One prize went off and a Nissan X-Trail was won with thanks to sponsor Dandenong Nissan and Kia.

2021
The $42,000 raised in 2021 was shared between two local charities, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre to fit out the interior of its new Refugee Resource Hub in Dandenong, and the Keysborough Learning Centre to provide a covered area to protect people from the elements when collecting or packing food parcels.

2020
Three charities benefitted from the $50,000 raised in 2020. Funds of $30,000 went to Taskforce to purchase and operate a mobile food cart at Dandenong Magistrate’s Court, doubling as a training facility, Cornerstone received $10,000 to refurbish kitchen facilities at its Drop-in Centre, and $10,000 went to the Bushfire Appeal.

2019
The Greater Dandenong Community Aid Consortium and Wallara shared in the $32,644 raised from 2019’s golf day. The Consortium of several community support agencies provided emergency relief to the most vulnerable, and Wallara is a leading local disability support and vocational training service.

2018
The $43,000 raised in 2018 was utilised by Avocare to establish and funnel funds to the Changing the Face of Poverty Network, which brought service providers together to share information and resources. A portion of funds provide breakfasts for local secondary school students and hygiene packs for people experiencing homelessness.

2017
The Mirabel Foundation was the sole recipient of the $50,000 raised from 2017’s golf day. Mirabel assists children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to illicit drug use by their parents and become cared for by an extended family. Funds were put towards running therapeutic girl’s groups.

2015 and 2016
The State Schools Relief Fund (SSRF) was golf day’s beneficiary over two years, receiving a record $55,650 in 2016 and $44,000 in 2015.
The SSRF provides uniforms, clothing, shoes and material aid to local primary and state school students. This need grew considerably in 2015, hence the ongoing support in 2016.

2014
Hanover Welfare Services (now Launch Housing) received $45,000 from 2014’s golf day, used to upgrade laundry facilities at Hanover’s Dandenong Crisis Accommodation facility, establish a dental fund for children and support the transition of mothers experiencing homelessness back into work.

2013
$40,000 was raised from 2013’s gold day in support of the Madcap on Mason Regional Training Centre project by mental health support charity ERMHA, the Eastern Regions Mental Health Association (now ermha365).

2012
The 2012 golf day charity was the Royal District Nursing Service’s Homeless Persons Program (now delivered by Boston Clarke). The $41,000 raised helped purchase an additional car for nurses’ use, enabling 800 visits a year to homeless persons, and expanded nutritional and public transport support for clients.

2011
Leading disability support and vocational service organisation Wallara received the $50,000 raised from 2011’s golf day. This went towards three projects in Wallara's high needs area in Keysborough - a sensory 'ability garden' (in collaboration with Chisholm Institute Dandenong), a walking hoist and media equipment.

2009
The Take a Swing for Charity golf day’s inaugural beneficiary was the Greater Dandenong Food Alliance. The $35,000 raised went to constructing expanded cool rooms at Avocare’s facilities in Dandenong South, expanding the amount of food that could be rescued, stored and distributed to those experiencing food insecurity, and increasing food distributions from two to five days per week.
