Benga - We Built This City

We Built this City celebrates the stories of some of Greater Dandenong’s favourite heritage sites as chosen by our community.

Built in 1936, Benga is an architecturally designed house modelled on both the Tudor Revival and modernist styles. The family of a local doctor, the Harts, were the one-time residents of the clinker brick home with gardens that delight. Greater Dandenong purchased the property in 1987 which opens regularly for public access.
