Dandenong Livestock Market - We Built This City

We Built this City celebrates the stories of some of Greater Dandenong’s favourite heritage sites as chosen by our community.

For over 130 years, the Dandenong Livestock Market was one of the State’s biggest and busiest markets, having an enormous impact on the growth, prosperity and character of the Dandenong region. Outgrowing its space, live-stock sales moved in 1958 and following declining sales, forty years later, the livestock market closed permanently.
