We Built this City celebrates the stories of some of Greater Dandenong’s favourite heritage sites as chosen by our community.
The post WWII boom in Australia saw Dandenong shift from a rural market town to a thriving industrial region. In 1954, General Motors Holden was one of the ‘big three’ industrial giants to establish here. The Dandenong plant achieved significant Holden milestones yet falling sales forced its closure in the early 1990s.
