Blackspot Road Safety Project – Browns Road, Noble Park North

Project Overview

It is proposed to install Raised Safety Platforms on Browns Road in Noble Park North, between Justin Drive and Police Road. This project is funded by the Federal Government’s Blackspot Program. The Blackspot program funds road safety measures in locations where there is a history of road crashes.

Browns Road currently has a number of roundabouts, however no traffic management devices with vertical displacement. Due to the large size of the roundabouts and lack of vertical displacement, vehicles are able to travel at high speeds, and trucks regularly use this route including during the currently signed truck curfew. These factors have contributed to this trend of crashes, which has resulted in several serious accidents in recent years.

The installation of raised safety platforms will reduce the chance of crashes occurring and improve safety for all road users.
