Council sought feedback from the community which helped shape the design of the new playground at Glendale Reserve at 75A Whitworth Avenue, Springvale.
The playground was part of Stage 2 of the Glendale Reserve Upgrade project.
There was strong support to upgrade the playground and provide more equipment for children to play on.
The playground has been designed to encourage active, challenging, imaginative and social play for both younger and older children.
The final concept plan is aligned with:
- the allocated budget for the 2022-2023 financial year
- a Neighbourhood level playground.
The key elements of the playground are:
- play activity unit including a large spiral enclosed slide, double slide, junior slide, monkey bars, rock climbing wall, floating steppers, tunnel and flexible gangways/bridge
- 2 swings, a basket swing and a pendulum swing
- obstacle-style rope course
- spinner
- cubby house with interactive elements
- group spring rocker
- single spring rocker.
