Council sought feedback from the community which helped shape the final design for Rowley Allan Reserve at 352-358 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough.
The concept plan supports the development and provision of sporting, recreational and community facilities, specifically for AFL, netball, cricket and lawn bowls.
Improvements to the sports facilities include:
- upgrade to the netball courts
- safety improvements to the cricket nets
- a new sports pavilion
- car park improvements.
Improvements to the park's informal facilities include:
- improved path networks, including a path around the perimeter of the oval
- an upgraded neighbourhood level playground
- a new toilet facility to service the playground and netball courts
- fitness and exercise equipment for a range of age groups
- a half sized multi-purpose court with fusion basketball / soccer goal and activity wall (requires the existing scout hall to be demolished)
- shelters, seating, picnic settings and BBQ facilities
- new trees.
How will the concept plan be funded?
The Implementation Plan provides guidance on the design and construction sequences that are required to implement the concept plan.
The funding to implement future projects is subject to the support and funding of capital works bids as part of Council’s annual budget process. Opportunities to obtain external funding in the following years as part of the Council budget process will also be pursued. The building projects in the master plan are intended to be funded from the building facility renewal program which is directed by the Sports Facilities Plan and Asset Renewal Program.
