Council sought feedback from the community which helped shape the design for the new local playground at Springvale Reserve at 1A Ericksen Street, Springvale.
This project is part of the Springvale Reserve Master Plan works.
There was strong support to develop a new local playground that provides more equipment for children to play on. Enhancement to the landscaping was also a key theme in the community feedback.
The key elements of the playground are:
- new play unit including a junior slide and a senior spiral slide
- 4 swings
- 2 basket swings
- rope play
- rockers
- spinner
- cubby house and play panels.
Additional improvements include a granitic sand path, fencing, a shelter, seats, a picnic table setting and new trees for shade.
State Government grant funding
Council was successful in receiving $2.0 million in SRV grant funding from the State Government as part of the 2022 State Election for various projects to upgrade Springvale Reserve, which includes this playground.
